Each country-specific template includes the correct currency symbol, tax label, compliance number fields, and date format required for legally-sound invoicing in that region.
Sales tax rates vary by state and locality. There is no federal sales tax. Consult your state's revenue department for the applicable rate. Sole proprietors should include their SSN or EIN on invoices when required.
VAT-registered businesses must display their VAT number on all invoices. The standard UK VAT rate is 20%. Invoices must also include a unique sequential invoice number, your full business name and address, and the supply date.
Businesses registered for GST/HST must display their Business Number (BN) on invoices. The federal GST rate is 5%; HST applies in participating provinces (Ontario 13%, Nova Scotia 15%, etc.). Quebec residents apply QST separately at 9.975%.
Australian businesses with an annual turnover of $75,000 or more must register for GST and display their ABN (Australian Business Number) on all tax invoices. The GST rate is 10%. Tax invoices over $1,000 AUD must include the buyer's identity.
